Darlington Review – December 2008

December 25, 2008

At the end of October, five members of Soroptimist International of Helena attended the Bollywood Ball in aid of the Soroptimist International Quadrennial Project 2007-2011, Project Sierra. It was an excellent evening. Most people attending dressed up in Indian attire. There was a buffet of different curries, followed by Bollywood type dancing which most people got up and tried to do. It was a very colourful and entertaining evening.

In the middle of November, Gary Warden presented an Information evening on Climate change at the Hillview golf course. It was a very interesting evening, with Gary presenting lots of information. Gary showed us ways of saving on fuel bills, using energy efficient appliances and reducing our carbon footprint.

With the end of the year coming up our club has conducted a planning meeting to decide our direction next year and to ensure we are working within the Soroptimist International Program area objectives.

In December we will be having our Christmas function. Before taking a break till next year, with the AGM of the club in January. I would like to wish all readers a safe and happy festive season.

We meet on the third Tuesday of the month at the Foothills Learning centre, Edney Road, High Wycombe. At 7pm.

Fay Kappler, Publicity Officer, Post Office Box 1181, Kalamunda, 6076.
