Happy New Year!!!
Our club’s AGM was held at the end of January and this year we had a change of Presidency. We welcome incoming President Kim Kennedy and thank our Immediate Past President Krys Kerr for all her hard work during her 2 year term.
2008 was finished in style with five members of Soroptimist International of Helena attending the Bollywood Ball in aid of the Soroptimist International Quadrennial Project 2007-2011, Project SIerra in October.
It was an excellent evening. Most people attending dressed up in Indian attire. There was a buffet of different curries, followed by Bollywood type dancing which most people got up and tried to do. In the middle of November, Gary Warden presented an Information evening on Climate Change at the Hillview golf course. It was a very interesting evening, with Gary presenting lots of information. Gary showed us ways of saving on fuel bills, using energy efficient appliances and reducing our carbon footprint. For more information see – www.wardoffclimatechange.org.au
Our Christmas function was held at Chatters Restaurant in Midland and was a lot of fun with members and their partners working through questionnaires to learn all about the people in the room. A fantastic way to keep a gathering lively and entertaining!!
