At out August meeting Hannah Downie from St Brigid’s collage, spoke about her Science Tour to Russia. SI of Helena had given Hannah a donation to help with her expenses. To get to go to Russia Hannah had taken part in Science week in Canberra the previous year, then a 6 day hiking/leadership course at Kununurra, earlier this year.
Hannah went to Moscow and St Petersburg, during her three weeks in Russia. The main area she saw was Aero Space. Their technology, looking at the experiments carried out in space, i.e. plants growing in zero gravity. She also saw where the Cosmonauts train. Hannah was very impressed with the culture as well and told us the museums were very impressive.
