Darlington Review – May 2010

We celebrated our 26th Birthday during the month of April. Members had dinner at the King and I in Guildford and we enjoyed a visit from a Soroptimist from Scotland who told us about the projects her club is involved in.

The 17th Conference of Clubs for Soroptimist International South West Pacific was held on the Gold Coast between the 16 – 18th April. Four members from our club attended.

Women representing 123 countries in our Federation attended as well as members from Soroptimist International Americas, Soroptimist International Great Britain & Ireland and our International President Hanne Jensbo.

A fantastic weekend of friendship, goodwill and understanding was had by all with the theme of the Conference focusing on Leadership.

Our first major fundraiser of the year will be held on Sunday 23 May with our annual Fashion Parade. Cost is $44 per ticket including lunch with proceeds going to the Royal Flying Doctor Service and other projects. Tickets are available online or phone 9274 4543 or 9299 6560.
