On Tuesday August 14, several members from our club presented the Royal Flying Doctor Service with a cheque for $1900 to aid in the purchasing of a blood esky and blood brick.

This money was raised at our annual Fashion Parade that was held in May this year at the Rosehill Country Club in South Guildford.

President Krys Kerr advised the Royal Flying Doctor service that our club chose to support them this year after learning what a difference the blood esky and blood brick can make in saving lives.

The Royal Flying Doctor Service has received permission to store blood supplies at its Jandakot base. A supply of O negative cells will be on hand which can be used in an emergency without the need to cross-match blood types. Having such a supply will enable the Service to depart even quicker on priority one flights, and also allows the flexibility of being able to take blood products more often.
